Zanzibar Archipelago consists of several small islands. The big ones are Unguja and Pemba Islands. Zanzibar boasts of having some of the best beaches in the world something that many tourists consider as an attraction in Tanzania. The beaches are covered with soft white sand, lined with coconut palms and small coves that shelter it from the wind and clear shallow water, along with traditional boats. Depending on which side of the island you are on you have plenty of things to do within the island. From sightseeing, fishing to swimming and snorkelling in the open ocean. Within the island you could also visit other attractions in Tanzania such as Stone Town, Jozani Chwaka National Park and Chumbe Island.
Tanzania Great Rift Valley Lakes
The Great Rift Valley is an unforgettable scenery, featuring hot springs, geysers, and lakes, as well as volcanoes, some of which are still active. Lakes on the floor of the valley, are a major feature of the Great Rift Valley, especially the Eastern Rift. Most of these inland lakes are generally shallow and contain a high mineral content, but also supports a diversity of bird-life, some are even surrounded by National Parks making them interesting attractions in Tanzania. Such lakes include Lake Manyara, Lake Tanganyika, Lake Victoria, Lake Natron Lake Eyasi and Lake Makati.

Besides the beautiful natural attractions in Tanzania, the country has rich historical and cultural sites that are worth visiting. Most of these sites house long history and traditions of the Tanzanians dating back to the 13th Century. Some of the most significant historical sites in Tanzania worth visiting during a safari in Tanzania include Olduvai Gorge, The House of Wonders, Kilwa Ruins, Stone Town, old Arab Fort and the National Museum and House of Culture among others.
